Almost Friday... Really?
Mood:  not sure
Now Playing: Yay For AC!!!!

Morning…

I apologize about the lack in updates, there just isn’t much to update on and I have been so distracted lately. It is 430 and I finally seem to have time to sit and write. Well to be honest I am awake because of a stomach ache, but I see that as annoying as it is, it makes me have to be still, allowing me the opportunity to write, or surf the internet. I think I would rather write, I mean, I can only handle too much surfing before it becomes extremely boring.

The current thing I am researching on the computer is a shelving unit I can turn into a pantry. It can’t be just any old shelving unit; it needs to be something along these lines…

shelfYet it needs to be tall like an actual book shelf… I would like it to have different sized cubby holes and what not so I can stay super organized, especially since I want to use a couple of those canvas storage bins too.

bin I have a feeling I will just have to come up with a design and build it at the shop on base, with some help of course. I would need CornFed’s truck, haha. It is just an idea, don’t know if it will happen, but we will see. It at least gives me something to think about.

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July! We did for the most part. Froggy got off early on Thursday since he wasn’t doing squadron duties and so our weekend started 6 hours earlier than planned. YAY! We mainly relaxed and screwed up our sleeping pattern, should make for an interesting work week and that was about it. Thursday night we stayed up too late and didn’t get to bed until a few hours after midnight. I was waiting on a text message from Radar informing me of when he wanted his wings and where I needed to take them. He of course got back to us around midnight and requested them for noon the next day. Big Blah, you know? It wouldn’t have been such a drag if it wasn’t for the fact that I was cooking 72 wings (2 batches) and it takes about 2 hours per batch. It sounds silly, but I am not going to compromise my process to save time, I think it would make the wings lose their “dominating” flavor. Oh well. Anyway, so that made for a tiresome morning. We dropped the wings off around 1300 and had plans with Radar later that night to hit up the snobby part of town to see their Holiday Festival. He was too tired from the night before and off of its activities, and after hearing his stories, I have no idea how he did all of that in less than 12 hours, but I figured he would cancel, so I wasn’t too worried. I think after the final word of “o go” on plans, Froggy and I took a nap that had us waking up later than we had wanted, sometime around midnight. I think we played video games and I made a homemade pizza using my wing sauce and some chicken and MS Polk’s Sausage. OH MAN, OH MAN!!! That pizza, in 90’s terminology, was “da bomb!” hehe. Man it was tasty. Froggy was all excited and wants me to bring in a bunch of them for the flight sometime. You know, with all this cooking he wants me to do, I think I need to invest in a second oven and a bigger Crockpot and grill, “Sheesh”. On the 4th we had thunderstorms like crazy and most of the fireworks shows got rescheduled for this upcoming weekend. ^_^  what a way to extend Independence Day!!! Sunday, I think we mostly relaxed and the same with yesterday. Although yesterday, around 400, the AC decided to call it quits, and that wasn’t very nice, especially since the office didn’t open until 900. Froggy went down to the office and put in a work order and around 1130 they showed up to fix it. Apparently it was really, really broken because it took him about 3.5 hours to diagnose, get the part and fix it. He wasn’t lolly-gagging or anything it was just that broken. I don’t remember what he said was wrong with it; I was really tired, still kind of am really. Froggy and I decided to stay up all day Monday since we never went to bed the night before, and Monday was a work night. Anywho speaking of not going to bed, it was around midnight-thirty early Monday morning and I got a wild hair to go PT. So Froggy and I headed down to the base field track and were stopped by MP on the way to the dorms. I am going to assume it was a sobriety checkpoint since they were standing in the middle of the intersection stopping people. If it hadn’t been for Froggy I would never have seen them since they weren’t wearing reflective belts. I saw the car, I am good at that, but they were just shadows in a not very well lit street. So he “flashlights” us to stop and I roll down my window and I say hello. He says hello and continues to stare at us curiously. Normally when I get pulled over on base it is for a seatbelt check (they have occasional checkpoints like this) or it is because of the infamous trouble I have with keeping my license plate light lit, this was weird, I mean he didn’t ask or say anything after hello, not even a gesture. I bet we could have stared at each other for hours but I am sure traffic would back up and plus I wanted to hurry up and work out because I knew I was going to need to pee soon. So I an attempt to stop the awkwardness and I hand him our ID’s and inform him that we are going jogging. He responds with, "that doesn’t sound fun" and I counter it with a heavy sigh and an “I know”. He hands us our ID’s ad sends us on our way. Froggy and I get to the track and not 15 minutes later here comes the same guys, now cruising slowly by the track. They totally didn’t believe we were jogging, it kind of insulted me, but hey, I understand. It does seem a little odd for someone to want to PT on a holiday weekend, not to mention at midnight-thirty. Though I am a night owl and this is seems perfectly normal to me. What I think isn’t normal is PT-ing at 1600, the hottest part of the day, in the middle of summer, that is crazy in a nutshell. Anywho, I understand though, can’t trust people on a 4 day weekend with access to “Fine Spirits”. So we continue our jog one lap, walk and do circuits lap and so on and what do you know, ten minutes after the first crawl by, here they come again. I guess they really didn’t believe us. I am surprised they didn’t pull us over again to make sure we weren’t intoxicated or drugged up. It was slightly odd. The work out was good and I was able to get rid of lot of pent up energy. I really needed that.

Today I shall be cooking the turkey that I wanted to cook but never felt up to do so. Not that I have the energy of patience to cook it today, but if I don’t cook it soon I will be wasting good meat, since it has been defrosting in the fridge since payday. I think I will do some laundry and start organizing the bedroom, it is a disaster in there and I am considering calling up FEMA, I really need some assistance. *shudders*

Anyway, Froggy is up and has coffee brewing, which always makes me hungry. I hope some food in my tummy will help with this upset stomach. I hope you all have a great day today! Take care!
