Pitcures! Pictures! Pictures Of.... SLEET (it wasn't snow =( sad huh...)

I decided to take picture, like I promised lol, but I thought I would paste them on a new post, just to make things less complicated! There is a bunch of them, so I hope that they won't take up too much of my "free" space.... This one is of the bcak porch, if you notice the light is coming from the wrong direction, haha And more back porch... ... Like I said, more back porch. This was captured around 0600 when Flyboy was getting called from the new guys regarding work. hehe it was sooo cute! Though, I have no idea why I forgot to resize this image, hmm... My wonderful car, covered in ice, topped with a dash of sleet. I thought it was snow until I actually went out there, grr, oh well. see the cute little icicles, my headlights where covered in ice, even the tarp covering my bike, out back, was frozen solid!! It was so cool! Sleet across the street... Sleet to the Left... And... sleet to the right! Even the trees are icy! Sort of like the storm we had in 2007, only less intense, which is a plus indeed! I can't tell which one is less blurry, so I am posting them both, haha! Flyboy thinks I am a bit crazy for going out there and playing in the snow/sleet this morning. I decided to fill our cooler with snow-sleet and put a couple pops and a couple bottles of grape juice in it, I think they will be chilled by lunch time. hehe So that is about it for the pictures I took, OH!!! I have two more, one from yesterday, and one of Sherwood, my squirrel, and his girlfriend, Sandra hehe This is Sherwood and Sandra. Apparently this is like their first date since they aren't being very affectionate with each other, or, they just have some serious PDA issues, lol. Fine by me though. This here is... Ice Glass. Yesterday as I was defrosting my car to pick up Flyboy, long story, I decided to roll down my driver's window to see if I could knock the ice off. Little did I know that it was really thick, so, well, the ice stayed there. It was pretty cool becuase I was able to tap it and watch it shatter. In the picture you can see me sticking my hand through a hole in the Ice Glass. I think that is from where the side mirror was blocking the weather. Crazy huh? Well that definitely is it for pictures, for now at least. Flyboy is really bugging to get back on the computer. blah. So I will let you go for now. Keep safe and I will see ya tomorrow! ~NikiRose

SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have SNOW!!!!! It SNOWED!!! It is kind of SNOWING now!!!!! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Though base has been closed for the day so Flyboy isn’t going anywhere. (It is really cute too because all the new guys are calling him asking him about work and stuff. Hehe =P) Coffee/hot cocoa is brewing, and I am going to take some pictures here really soon! It was really nasty out there yesterday! As in I went outside to pick up Flyboy and I didn’t even have to lift a foot to make it to my car, I just slid all the way there on my big feet, like skies. I tell you though I wasn’t expecting that. Oh, my, and the asphalt was even worse. Leadership had sent everyone home yesterday around 1000, but Flyboy was stuck there because he was to fly today, and well they had to mission plan. So leadership I guess felt bad and took Flyboy home for me. I am glad I didn’t have to drive on that stuff, but on the other hand I was more nervous waiting for him to get here then I would have been driving on the ice! It never got above or even close to 32 degrees yesterday, so the ice from yesterday and the accumulation from last night, makes it and even yuckier situation today. =/ But to top off the horrible-ness, there is a sweet layer of snow, like sugar sprinkled on angel food cake… mmm angel food cake! Though, the lights are flickering again, which is a little irritating, but we were told there could be a lot of power outages because of the weather. So I better let everyone go for now. I don’t want to blow the power supply on this baby… Yay Snow! Take care, keep warm, and be safe!!! ~NikiRose

Good morning! Hmm… I would say it is about 26 degrees with a wind chill making it about 15 degrees. =) The car started alright, though now it is having issues starting on the first try when it is 50 degrees or higher!!! So Flyboy and I have drawn the conclusion, that if it is below 50 we lock it with the door locks, if it is hotter, we have to use the alarm thingy. It never gets boring I tell ya. The shindig was fun. They LOVED the apple crisp, once again, except for some reason they keep calling it Apple Fritter Stuff. (I don’t care, just as long as they like it) I am thinking about experimenting with some dessert making/baking/however and let them be the taste testers. (Of course Flyboy will get to taste test first) But I really think they would enjoy that. We didn’t end up leaving until after 100. (I was exhausted. I have been working on a sleep schedule and so by 2100 we are just about ready to fall asleep, so well, I was ready to call it a night.) Today it is supposed to get really icy, especially this afternoon. They were saying that it won’t get as bad as our ice storm in 2007, but it will be very slippery. Flyboy is scheduled to fly tomorrow, but it is looking like that will be a negative, again. He is also scheduled for a TDY next month sometime, so we aren’t really worried about him dropping dead this month, well unless the TDY gets cancelled. (I think I should stop before I jinx anything lol) The workout Friday was great. Flyboy was really worn out. (I am glad too because the day before he had complained that he wasn’t as tired as he was on Wednesday ((extra cardio day)) so, because of that I stepped it up. He feels bad for saying it now lol. He likes the push-up routine I have him doing, and he was really impressed that I pushed the diamond ones out like nothing. Hehe. =D I believe today is an Upper Body workout day; I would have to double check of course, but yeah. Tuesday is a Lower Body and then Wednesday is Extra Cardio, Flyboy’s choice. (Last time we got stuck with the elliptical because the bikes were taken. Let’s just say I wasn’t a happy camper. I am NOT a big fan of the elliptical, though I will say, it is easier on my knees!) Wednesday is also measuring day, so hopefully we will see some results. I need to get on Flyboy for not drinking enough water. I on the other hand am going through water like mad. Anywho, I think I am going to do a few loads of laundry and some dishes, so I will let you guys go for now. Keep warm and Take care! ~NikiRose

OMG!!!! I haven’t written yet! Bob reminded me, unknowingly, and I feel really silly. Flyboy and I got up early and found out that he was an afternoon scheduler today, which meant he didn’t have to be at work until noon. So he was on the computer most of the time, and I was working on finances and talking with Mississippi Mom. I can’t believe how late it is! I apologize. There isn’t much to talk about. I am kind of worried about Molly, (she is The King’s dog) she has been having seizures and had a nasty one last night. The medication seems to be helping, though it turns her into a zombie dog, but last night was awful. =/ she isn’t that old either. Over here in Weird Weather Central, not much has been going on. We renewed our lease this morning, and filed taxes, had breakfast and that was about it. Our plans for Cali are still on, and so are Soldiers, at least last I heard. I haven’t heard from him in a bit. Though he did comment on his own MySpace profile saying the mission was completed and that he would be going on regular deployment status soon. Whatever that means and why he would say that on a place like MySpace, I have no clue, but it is Soldier we are talking about. =) We still have no snow, but we still have two months left of winter! So a girl can dream right? Oh, and update on our static problem, now that I have new microwave, my house is back to normal. No flickering lights, no getting shocked every 5 seconds, no more getting shocked on the nose from Flyboy’s big nose when he tries to kiss me, (No joke, I didn’t even get a kiss out of it! I knew he was static charged; he was wearing fleece and everything so I made sure I wasn’t going to touch him at all. He wanted a kiss before he took out the trash and so I leaned in, not touching him, and his nose decided it was going to electrocute me and we heard, SNAP and saw it too! Some would say it is romantic “aw, they were connected by electricity” I call it OW! As in the tip of my nose hurt for a few hours after that. It is hilarious though. I was trying my best NOT to get shocked, I really hate it.) And no more dim anything. It is another load off my shoulders =) I am hoping Flyboy will get off soon. I know he is on afternoon shift, but I am hoping that Hall Call (every Friday) will be soon, that way he won’t have to stay until 1630. I really want to work out! We are working on his pushups and I found a different routine, which he will most likely hate, but I like it, and yes I can do it, so he shouldn’t complain, and I really want to show it off to him. I am SO excited!!! I can actually do open had diamond type pushups to the really wide ones =D I know I can do them but I have trouble with getting the proper form. Every once in a while I will find it and just knock them out easily, but the rest of the time it is embarrassing. I now, know how to set myself up in the right position (so to speak ((tribute to air force blues comics)) and knock out a bunch. Flyboy will be impressed and bummed since I will be raising the standard. Teehee (we’ll just say that is what he gets for giving me the jar full of salt for my oatmeal! Lol) Flyboy just messaged me saying that I am now going to be DD for Meathead and his girlfriend instead of just Radar, for Macho Nacho’s shindig tomorrow. I knew I was taking Radar, but apparently I am the official DD (Designated Driver). Oh well, lol, it isn’t like I can even have a sip of anything with alcohol in it anyway. Since I am on Glucophage I can’t have any due to nasty side effects, anywhere from migraines, to strokes to death. And well, I think that would cause a confliction with the Cali trip, what do you think? Haha. (Meathead is a short, angry guy who is really sweet when he has something to drink. Really odd. I have no clue about his girlfriend, she is new as of last weekend and I know she is a local that is about it. ((The guys really harp on him for that)) Well I have a feeling that Flyboy’s text “brb” means Hall Call, so I would like to jump in the shower to loosen up my muscles before our workout tonight. I am SO stoked! Hehe, Sorry for the delay, Hope your day is going well! ~NikiRose

Morning! I think this will be a short entry; I need to work on finances. =) Today is going to be really weird, via weather and when I pick up Flyboy. First off, the weather is going to start of at below freezing and reach a high of between 75 and 80! I ask you, what happened to our winter over here??? Then Flyboy has been recruited by the squadron to compete in a competition to ready the Wing for a huge inspection. (Apparently this is a yearly event) It is squadron verses squadron, each with four teams and four events. Then the final event is each Squadron Commander wagering the points his squadron earned for the win. (This is the first time we have heard about this. Last year there were too many things going on for the squadron to participate or something or other. I don’t know) So, Flyboy is competing in that. He practices today in his event and then sometime next week is the real deal. Oh, and as of 15 Jan 09 flyboy is now a Senior Airman. Pretty cool… eh? He is scored really high on his EPR and is currently waiting on the Squadron Commander to return to work (He just got back from deployment) so he can sign in. Then it has to be pushed up the chain of command and then he gets to actually have his EPR paper in his hand he will get to spend billions of dollars on new stripes and patches and yadda, yadda, yadda, I am thrilled. Then of course the Finance Office has to get it (which takes forever). But yeah, he has been promoted =) Yay Flyboy. (He had to explain all this to me a few times because it just doesn’t make sense, so this is the best I can relay to you all. Lol) I haven’t heard any out of Soldier, which means he is probably still busy with missions. My car has been starting AWESOMELY, now that we figured out the new trick. (Not locking it with the “clicky button” and locking it manually instead. It is AMAZING, I am so baffled by it, especially that I didn’t think of it myself, and also since it is SO simple. The car fires up like it was the middle of summer. It blows my mind! I am having a really hard time getting over it, really. My finger is doing better, super glue is amazing. It finally sealed itself in the middle (kind of gross looking really), but the rest of it is still wide open, deep too. (I found this out after I got the super glue to come off, the last time I did that, I just reopened the wound and it started gushing blood, blah.) Anyway, I put some Neosporin on it and put it back in a band aid, it’s not giving me trouble at all. =) Though speaking of trouble, I made some oatmeal for breakfast and was going to add some sugar, so I asked Flyboy if he would bring me the sugar. So he brought “it” to me and I put a bunch on my cereal, added some raisins and I eagerly took a big bite. The taste was instantly nasty, and I thought, these raisins are gross, okay, whatever, I can deal. Then I started to continue chewing (as much as you can chew oatmeal) and the taste just kept getting worse and worse then I realized, it wasn’t sugar he gave me it was salt!!!!!!!!!! OMG, I never thought you could ruin oatmeal until now. The thing is I have the sugar in an air tight mason jar (keeps sugar from hardening, especially brown sugar! I love my vacuum sealer!) Anyway, the sugar is kept with my spices, and the left over salt is put in the cabinet over the stove, I guess he forgot and grabbed the salt. (The labels had peeled off, but you can still tell the difference just looking at them. Sugar is shiny salt, not so much) but yeah, so I am still trying to get the taste out of my mouth. There’s nothing like a mouth full of salt drenched oatmeal for breakfast! Yuck! Other than that, not much has been going on. I will probably have left over lasagna for lunch, since I didn’t really eat it last night for dinner. I was exhausted and had no appetite. I haven’t been sleeping too well. I mean I sleep, but I have been tossing all night. I think it could be due to the heat, it has been getting really warm at night, which is odd since I don’t have the heater turned up that high. I have it set under 70 degrees. (70 degrees, is just too hot for me). Hmm… though speaking of that, this Saturday we are going over to Macho Nacho’s house. (He reminds me of a younger version of Cousin Richard, same build and humor, and “kids” are a dirty word in his house, right now, as in him having kids. He doesn’t mean it; he is just a macho, nacho type guy. He’d make a great uncle, or a great daddy one day, if he and his girlfriend decided to get married, they have been together for how long now? Lol) Anywho, he just got back from deployment and so he decided he is going to throw a welcome home type shindig at his place, and we have been invited, just as long as I bring apple crisp. (Like I did last time lol) Should be fun… Well my tummy is rumbling, must mean it is snack time and that lunch is only a few more hours away! I need a hole puncher! That is what I forgot at the store. Flyboy and I went to the BX to pick up scale and I just couldn’t for the life of me remember what else I was there for. Well I remember now, and that was like 3 days ago! Well it is snack time, so I am going to fix me one. =) Hope you all are doing well! Happy Thursday!!!!! (I don’t know, my tummy is taking nutrients from my brain I guess =S) Take care! Love, ~NikiRose

Hey there everyone! Flyboy here! Short post today... Niki was making dinner and cut her finger, a nice long and pretty painful cut, and I had to run to the store and grab some super glue to help seal the wound... it is just another thing that superglue is good for. The wound is now securely shut and we shall be heading to the store later to get a more appropiate bandage. Other things in my life are going rather smoothly; the rest of my squadron has returned from deployment and they are now on their R&R Compensation days... meaning that begining in February I get new leadership, get to schedule a lot of people for flights, etc. So... Niki has moved to cutting the onion and asked me to get my gas mask so she doesn't cry from the onion... "Onions are no match for me!!! Huah!" -Niki Silly niki! Hm... we think that we have solved the problem with our car. Our car has an anti-theft system called Pass-Lock. Now, the Pass-Lock system operates by having a piece of silicon that detects whether a given key is the correct key that is placed in the ignition. All is well during warm weather. However, the silicon contracts during cold weather; which means that it cannot detect the key as well as it would. It actually does not recognize the key as the same key! Now, there is a procedure to reset the recognition for the key; however, it would be rather stupid to do it here, where we go up and down temperatures daily, so that procedure would be ineffective. So, rather than having trouble with the system daily, I have discovered a rather simple way to bypass it all. The Pass-Lock system is activated by the remote lock. So, we just need to manually lock the car, which does not activate Pass-Lock and therefore the silicon does not even check to see if the key is correct. I tried out this theory by starting the car without warming the key or the ignition switch. The car started the first time! (In 18 degree weather, I might add!) Of course, I will continue to try out this theory and will update on the end results. But so far so good! Ah well... everything here is pretty fine. I think that should conclude today's post. ~Flyboy out.

Buenos Tardes! I know this is a later than normal entry, but I was busy with veggies this morning. As soon as I came home I was in the mood to start bagging the frozen veggies. Speaking of veggies, I need to quickly bag the asparagus I blanched and put in the freezer. (That was like 4 hours ago) Anywho, I figured that since I have been slacking in the kitchen, I might as well start bagging while I have the energy to do so. All I have left is the asparagus. We have been having electrical issues for over a month now and I finally figured out what it was… the microwave! Yeah, I decided to move it to a different outlet, and turn on all the lights, just to see if it was the outlet or not. Well it was, until I plugged the microwave into another outlet and proceeded to heat something until it started to smoke… We NOW have a new microwave. I messaged Flyboy about it and since he was on lunch I invited him to come with me to pick one out. Then we headed to subway for lunch and split a tuna sandwich. They actually made it well this time because it was the best tuna sandwich I have had in years, no joke. I didn’t end up cooking the meat yesterday, it was too cold, and I had like no energy. I REALLY need to start cooking before my meat goes bad =S (I need to put my Christmas decorations away too!) During lunch Flyboy was telling me that the Air Force will be having civilians conducting the PT tests. Pretty interesting. It basically means the tests will be harder to pass. So after he gets off work he has allowed me to work with him, instead of working separately. We will see how this goes. I made him promise not to complain, and I promised to let him get sleep at night (me and my night owl mentality). So I am hoping this goes well. =) It is still in the low teens outside, and no snow, just icy goodness. I need to figure out what dinner will consist of, and I am kind of having trouble with it. Hmm… Well, I think I am going to bag those frozen asparagus… stalks? (I think that is what they are called) Anyway, keep warm, take care and look out for geese. =) ~NikiRose

Now Playing: Why Did It Do That?
Morning! Well, I have returned with a hungry stomach, some painfully aching appendages and an alien gerbil named Ned. I just finished dropping Flyboy off, he was a minute late. My lovely Saturn decided that rubbing the key 20 times wasn’t good enough and well it refused to start on the first try. Now granite it was 14 degrees out there but that isn’t an excuse. Though I am still very proud of it, for starting on the second try of course… 15 minutes later... (I really like this font. HEHE. I haven’t noticed it before. See I generally type my entries on Word before I copy and paste them onto the blog. There are only like 3 font choices on the actual blog and 3 sizes, so, I go a different route.) Yesterday was busy. I went grocery shopping, stayed under budget and replied to an email from Soldier’s friend, Domino. She is really cool and I am glad she wrote me back. (They have been very, very, Very close friends for a while, like since he was in Cali ;) and I have to keep EVERYONE posted ;) you know) Anywho that was really exciting until, my keyboard decided to die. Yeah, it stopped working all together. Yes, it was plugged in to the tower and yes… I moved the wires around to try to rehabilitate it, but it came down to a loss. Yeah, and right in the middle of my email. So I had to drive down to Wal-Mart to pick up a new keyboard, 13 bucks. I figured they would start off higher than that, but I lucked out I guess. (I would have gone to the BX but they are generally PACKED on payday by 900) Now I have a new keyboard, its name is Randy. =) I think I like this one better than my old one, but my old one came WITH my ancient computer. So I am having a hard time with that. Lol Randy is smaller and much, much lighter. It will take some time getting used to, but I think I will be alright. Haha. So, all of that drama threw my un-timed time schedule off. I was able to organize my “pantry” and put all the groceries away, and then Flyboy called and said he was off work in 15 minutes. Of course… I wasn’t able to cook ALL of the meat… You will NEVER guess what today will entail while Flyboy soars through the clouds? Awww, how did you know? Yuppers, cooking meat. Ha! But I still win because you didn’t say anything about veggies and I have to do that too. Well assuming isn’t very wise ya know. Lol =) I don’t know what else needs updating. Hmm… Oh I have figured more about my itchy-ness, besides an allergic reaction to dryer sheets… dry skin. I found some St. Ives on sale yesterday (Like REALLY on sale) and I put some on after my night shower and oh… my… goodness… I was like instantly relieved. Yay Me. Then this morning I was talking with Mississippi Mom and she helped me figure out why certain appendages were just unrelentingly tender and well in pain with the slightest touch. Apparently it is a much common side affect of one of the pills I am taking. (That would have been nice to know so I wouldn’t freak out. I read the sheet the pharmacist gave me when I went to pick up the pills. ((They always give you a paper that has a bunch of important information about the medication you have been prescribed)) and this certain painful tenderness wasn’t listed.) Flyboy looked it up on the computer form my last night and he said it was hard to say what could be the cause, but he deduced that it could be related to these hormone changes that the doctor is trying to fix and what not. Since my mom is well, a girl, duh, I figured she would know the answer better than a computer. I was right =) so she gave me some much appreciated advice on how to soothe the situation. Thank goodness it was this and not something else. I know cancer is a popular inevitability in this particular region on my side of the family. I LOVE family ailments. Haha. Yeah, I was really starting to stress out, if it’s not my knees it’s my teeth or PCOS. It is really frustrating. =/ Anywho, I am really excited that it is related to these silly pills and not something else. I am glad it can be relived too. (I am sure that is much more than you needed to know, but, I am being honest and hey, you’re the ones reading it hehe. =) ) Anywho, I am really famished, I haven’t eaten yet and hungry is the number one cause of drowsiness and fatigue… I don’t know, it just seemed like that would be the right sentence there, whether it is true or not. Haha. Well I declare that it is feeding time and I must depart from you to feast on something tasty in the kitchen. I must ready my sword for it may have to be slaughtered first. “To the garden… AWAY” *flies off* (That made no sense hehe) Take care! Love you guys! Be Safe!! ~NikiRose

GOOD MORNING!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just got home from grocery shopping, and I got out of there for less than $150, wooowhooo!!! I’m not trying to rub anything in, I know groceries are expensive, but I am excited because I stayed under budget, $150, for two shopping trips now =D Yay me!!! I think my sleep schedule is back on track and of course it will screwed up tonight and for the rest of the week, God bless crew rest. Though, I don’t know if Flyboy will be able to take off tomorrow since we have a nasty cold front coming in, thank you WA. Just kidding. But yeah, it is supposed to get really nasty tonight and tomorrow. Like always, no snow, just ice. I rewashed the bedding yesterday and I wasn’t itchy at all last night. Go figure. So now I have 75 dryer sheets that I can’t use because my body chemicals have decided they don’t like the dryer sheets I picked out. I don’t think I am going to write much more today. I have a list of things I need to do before Flyboy gets sent on crew rest, and I don’t know when crew rest starts until I pick him up. So I am on a time schedule with no time limit? I will assume I will have to be done with my list somewhere around 1300. It seems that on days before flying they like to keep them there after lunch. I don’t know, there is nothing to read into, this is just a female estimation. Well the fridge needs reorganizing and so does my “pantry” and I really, really, really need to cook this meat before I lose the “lack” to do so. (I am so tired of cooking. And the sad thing is, I have to eat to live so cooking is a life long commitment. Kind of depressing, as are the dishes that piled up out of nowhere. I did them yesterday and I went to sleep around 1730… so I know who the culprit is… Shadow Mario *dun dun duuuuuuun!* Anyway, I REALLY need to go. Take care and stay warm!!! Love ya, ~NikiRose
