Buenos D?-as
Mood:  accident prone
Now Playing: Vibrations of the Tanker

Good morning!

Not much is going on here. Yesterday we ended up crashing early, like 1800 early! I think all that sleep was good for Flyboy; he seems a lot better today. The ribs came out great! Hehe (no doubt they wouldn’t, but yeah) (Wow! The guys are busy with transitions early this morning. There are a bunch of them out there flying!)

Today will be a laid back day. I will work on some more flash cards while I finish cooking all that meat, but that is about it. Flyboy didn’t have to be at work again until 930, so I had a late morning. This afternoon when he gets off I am going to have him teach me how to play chess. He has been bugging about it for a while. I learned how a long time ago, but for some reason I didn’t retain the knowledge.

Anyway, I still haven’t heard from my employer, so I will call her in about 20 minutes. I know I said I would call her Friday, but this is really starting to annoy me and plus it’s on my credit not theirs. I would also like to resolve this so it isn’t on the back of my mind. Speaking of which, I got a hold of Equifax and am having them do an investigation regarding the Mercy account and the one that says I owed twice as much as I paid. I called up that company and they sent me a statement saying it was paid, and they will be notifying Equifax themselves. (though it will take 30 days for it to update.) Anywho, I better start cooking, the meat isn’t getting any younger…

Mood:  mischievious
Now Playing: The battle theme of Final Fantasy 8
Topic: Flyboy Speaks

“Hey! Flyboy here! I just wanted to thank everyone for the cards and phone calls that I received for my birthday…they were most appreciated!  I have taken control over the computer for the time being… Cad is making me flash cards so I can study later. But at the moment, the computer is under my command… ha ha ha! (Insert a more maniacal and devious tone to my laughter, please.)

For those of you who haven’t had the chance to meet me yet, I should point out that I don’t like to be very serious unless there really is something serious happening.  There is a time and place in which to act serious; but, as I see it, those times are (and as should be) few and far between.  It is my philosophy that we should never be kept down by bad situations… if you only view the negative, that is all you will ever come to see. True, as I have found out, this philosophy may make me naïve at times, but I find that this outlook can really enhance a life. As a friend of mine once said, “Life is nothing without a smile.”

Hm… I seem to be babbling more than actually saying what happened today… Cad dropped me off at work, where I spent the morning trying to schedule flights.  I am afraid that I can’t be more specific.  I can’t have terrorists or anybody like that know what is going on with my job, you know?

While I was at work, Cad worked on the aforementioned flash cards.  She is currently eating a salad and is preparing the ribs for my dinner. Those ribs were originally for consumption yesterday night, but, as Radar and I had wished to get some hot wings, Cad had no time to actually make ribs; especially since after Radar and I returned to work, we had to stay there till 1700 because some old guy had to get promoted. Blah.

This whole week, Cad and I are celebrating my birthday little by little.  Most of the festivities are planned over the upcoming four-day weekend that I have earned at work.  We are going to be driving down southward to have some Jack in the Box.  There is only two JB’s in the entire state, and one of them is four hours away. Bah. I am not sure about the rest of the time… Cad seems intent on surprising me.

In other news, I am enjoying our new apartments.  They really are so much more peaceful than the old ones.  I can’t tell you enough about how nervous it made me to walk down the stairs at my old place, in my uniform and coming face to face with exactly 20 gang members, with their pants hanging low and their pounding music. I was afraid that I was going to be shot!  Not to mention that there were several shootings right outside our window, and that when we moved in we found quite a few bullet holes patched up in the walls.  Hm… it didn’t take much logic to figure that we weren’t particularly safe in that neighborhood.  We considered living on base for a little bit (police have bigger, better guns!), but we decided against that.  Better financially to live where we are at. Now, the only riff-raff that comes along are the few that sneak into the gates after someone has entered.

The ribs are looking delicious!  We just checked on them and, well… yay me!

I am really looking forward to visiting California.  Cad has really spent a lot of time describing it to me, and it sounds like a really fun trip!  However, the only problem with the trip is the expensive price tag… it will take a lot of money.  Heading to Washington would also be nice, as well.  But, as things go, it will also be expensive (though not quite as much…).  It would appear that I need to work on getting a promotion.

Cad is playing Final Fantasy 8 at the moment now.  The aroma of barbequed ribs drift into my nose.  A sense of peace…

Well… my mind has exhausted all useful information… I doubt that anyone will want to hear my ranting on nonsense, so at this moment, I will bid adieu.

Hooray! Finally Home!
Mood:  sharp

Good afternoon!

I can’t believe it is almost 1400! This morning I went grocery shopping and then came back home to take Flyboy to work. (He didn’t have to be at work until 930. He wasn’t feeling too good this morning, so I didn’t have him go shopping with me. I think the flu shot/spray he got is finally catching up with him. Yeah, he said that if he had to fly today, he would go to sick call instead. He doesn’t give up flying that easily, which means he really wasn’t feeling good. =/ after I took him to work, like an hour later he was on lunch. Flyboy and Radar decided to cash in the meal we owed him, this afternoon. So I was told to meet them at… well, Hooters. Radar is a hot wing addict and well, that was the place to go out here. It was definitely an experience. (Today was my first time going there) I will be up front, I am not a hot wing fan, but I tell you, I am now. I ordered the teriyaki wings, (I don’t like spicy stuff) and they were amazing! I will say I definitely will be back for their wings! (Ordering them to go of course)

Now I am finally home. Radar said he would drop off Flyboy, (yay me!) so I can put my feet up. Though I do need to start cooking all the meat I just bought, so I can put it in the freezer. You know, I did some math and Flyboy only works 4 days this whole entire pay period.(until the 14th) Four days! Speaking of that, this Friday I more than likely won’t be writing until after 1430. The catering event should be over by then. We have to be there from 0800 until 1430.

Oh! I called my employer yesterday and she said she does have new information regarding that bill, but she was in the middle of a meeting and said she would call me back. I haven’t heard from her yet, but I will give her until Friday to call and then I will call her back.

I think I am going to clean around here some. Ttyl. Take Care!

Oh... So... Tired.. Must.. Stay... Awake... To... Get... Back... On... Schedule... ahhh ow.
Mood:  silly
Now Playing: tick... tock.. tick.. tock... tick.. tock.. tick... tock.......

I know, I know, it’s 0340, I should be in bed. I am really tired and accidentally screwed up my sleeping pattern by having late night coffee on Saturday. =S I honestly didn’t realize how late it was until I noticed Flyboy doing his “sleepy eye rub” haha. (He doesn’t even realize he does it! I think that is the funny part because he seems so surprised that I know when he is tired. =D)

Anyway, I won’t write for too long, my hands are cold. (Maybe I should type with glove on or something?)Flyboy was suppose to have today off, it being his birthday and all, but a bunch of guys at work have been ditching important meetings and well, no more scheduled off days this week. =/ So, he has to take his birthday-comp day on the 10 of Oct. But, he at least gets a half day! (He gets to come home after the Wing picture) We have decided to just make this WHOLE week a LONG birthday week. (With the exception of Friday, that is a catering event we have volunteered to help with. And knowing Flyboy he probably put us down for the night shift… which means he’ll be extra tired…) By LONG week I mean he has a 4 day weekend this weekend, in fact he has two 4 day weekends in a row! I am beginning to think he has more days off than school kids! Lol. Better not say too much more, I might jinx it. He wants to do his birthday dinner later in the week, and hang out with Radar on Thursday, and today, he will get his surprise after he gets home. (hehe, he has no clue =D) I will definitely take a few pictures and I will post them before we sit down for dinner (birthday sandwiches… go figure)! I am really excited too! (All his other birthdays, he has been flying =/)

Oh I want to say thank you Moma Mouse for the tips with the dryer. I unplugged it and got back there with vacuum and it seems to be drying quicker! =D

I can’t believe September is already over; well technically it won’t be over until Wednesday, but still. October will fly by fast too; it is a pretty busy month for us. Of course this is Flyboy’s Birthday Week, so that will be busy, this Friday is the catering event, I need to finish cleaning and unpacking before the following Friday (10th) because my mom is coming out to visit! =D hehe. Then the following week is payday, and he has a few flights in there as well as a couple other volunteer events… Then Bam! November… My goodness…

Oh, the weirdest thing… I had gotten some new hand lotion and some new deodorant (they were on sale) and the lotion smells like chocolate chip cookie dough and the deodorant smells like smarties! Weird combination to have on I tell ya.  I didn’t realize it until Flyboy was like, you smell weird dear. What have you been cooking today? I was slightly insulted at first but after we figured it out, it was funny. The odd thing though (this story isn’t as funny written out as it is in my head, sorry.) The deodorant is suppose to smell like blueberries (I don’t like the strawberry one. I am a bit burnt on strawberry smelling stuff) and the lotion is cocoa and Shea butter. (That makes a bit more sense, but it is still weird) So the lesson from this story is smell EVERYTHING before you buy it… yes, even pets. hehe

I think I am getting a bit too tired I think I may take a shower to wake up a bit. I should jump in there soon though, it’s almost 0500. The alarm goes off in about and hour and a half and I don’t know how long it takes the hot water to… refill? Is that the word I’m looking for? I don’t know. *shrugs* I know you all know what I am talking about though, so it really doesn’t matter. Ha! I think I will make him breakfast when he gets up. He generally has coffee on the way to work and then eats the breakfast that I pack him in his lunch box. Don’t worry, he has lunch in there too and small healthy snacks to boost the metabolism. I am thinking breakfast burritos… fluffy eggs, cheddar cheese, onions, hash browns (possibly), bacon (I found some ends and pieces at Wal-Mart!!! I cooked them up in the George Foreman and tossed them in the freezer) and maybe some sausage, if we have it of course. Since he should be home for lunch I am either thinking my grilled chicken wraps (grilled chicken, homemade honey mustard dressing ((vinegar, honey, mustard, olive oil)) fresh spinach and some Tomato and Basil Wheat Thins, to give it a tomato flavor and a crunch) or my crazy salad (lettuce, fresh spinach, chopped baby carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes ((if I have them. I don’t like them so they are only bought on special request)); little bit of peanuts, crushed Tomato and Basil Wheat Thins, and Fiber One ((the twiggy looking kind)), a pinch of cheese and of course my dressing). I am not a big fan of salads, I like mine simple… a lot of cheese and some lettuce/spinach. Flyboy on the other hand LOVES it. The salad ingredients change, because, well, I like experimenting when I cook. Hehe. Flyboy seems to enjoy it too, so, why not? I was thinking about putting some mandarin oranges on it, but I forgot to get some last payday. Oh well.

Holy Cow!! If I am going to shower I better do it now. I will be right back…

Okay, I’m back. That didn’t take too long. Great… Of course, right after I get out of the shower (the very warm shower) the AC kicks on… That means… it’s blanket time! *burr* I know, I could turn up the AC so it is warmer, but then it gets too hot. I haven’t been able to find that happy medium yet. I know I like it really cold, I LOVE snuggling underneath my covers, teehee, but I don’t like it so cold that I have to wear socks. (My feet freeze too easily…thanks mom. =/ anyway… breakfast… what do you think? I think I am really hungry right now and will have a hard time waiting until Flyboy wakes up. I know I can resist, must… think… about… puppies! I could start tidying up from the lazy weekend right now, but I lack the energy, if only I could move things with my mind… *ponders* that would be pretty cool though. Sitting back and relaxing in your favorite chair and just telling the house to clean up it’s self. Hehe the whole early morning “honey, I can’t find [insert object]. Do you know where it is?” situation, and you really don’t want to get out of bed to get it because you know if you tell him where it is you’ll get into the, “what? I didn’t hear you”

“It’s in the…”

“In the drawer, which one?”

“I just told you”

water running while he’s shaving, so he isn’t really paying attention to your answer because he doesn’t want cut himself, conversation. So you pry yourself out of bet to fetch it for him, even though you technically don’t need to be up for another 45 minutes. Instead you could just {insert object} and tell it appear on the sink countertop, roll over and snuggle underneath those warm, cozy blankets. Though I think it would get old after a while. Then of course if you forget about the ability…

Anyway, I think I am going to find everything I need to make this oh, so fancy breakfast. Hmm.. hot cocoa would be tasty too. Ooh! And we even have, wait, aww, no, we ran out of whipped cream last week. Grr, oh well. I could do, cocoa coffee =D I know he likes that. Yay me! I am going to go for now. I will write more about the plans today (they aren’t that extravagant, but I am still excited) after I take him to work. (He can’t read my blog from the computers there unless he goes to the library, which he will be stuck doing pictures so I really don’t have to worry about that). I shall return in a matter of about 3 hours? Possibly?

Lesson #1 – Food coloring … stains

Mental Note #1 – Food coloring is an OUTside project

Okay, time to relax-ish. My whole surprise was to bake him a cake. (See I told you it wasn’t that exciting) However this is my first “official” cake, made all by myself. After poking and prodding Flyboy, slyly, I found out that he really, really likes German Chocolate Cake. (I knew that, but I wanted to double check. His taste buds seem to change with his moods. Go figure) So, I decided I would bake him a cake. What, oh what to make it look like… hmm… Since this is last minute idea, it can’t be too complicated… oh! I know!! A Rotor dome! His cake looks like an AWACS rotor dome. Hehe =D He is going to love it! I can’t wait! Yes, I took pictures and in a minute here I am going to upload them onto the computer. When he gets home I will take more. I feel so mean, =D, he asked if we could buy a cake and I told him “I don’t know, they are really expensive now days” He looked really sad, “I know. Okay, hmm, what else can we do?” I was being honest, so I guess I am not that bad, but I can’t wait for him to grin from ear to ear. I know I am only going to post one picture, I would post all four of them but it would be a little pointless being that they are the same picture. (I was just getting a bunch that way I could pick the best one. the lighting isn’t too good in the kitchen. Maybe I could open the blinds and let in some natural light… hmm I don’t know.

I had some coffee this morning, but I am still tired. I am starting to loose my boost. I can’t crash now; I have to go grocery shopping in the morning. I have laundry going and I cleaned up some, and I finished the cake. I am making some progress. Speaking of progress, I need to call up my previous employer and get an update. The last time I called she had called the bank up to dig for an old check because the hospital was giving her the run around. I think I will do that. I shall update when I get off the phone. Ta ta for now =)

*UPDATE*

-------------------------

Hello, I’m back again. I took the pictures and because there were so many, I decided to put them into a slide show. (I am running out of free space on this site and I am not ready to start paying for more space yet). Plus when you watch the slide (I wish it would go faster) it seems like you are actually watching the event, live. Maybe that could just be me. I don’t know. I like it and therefore that’s how it will be. I did take pictures of half the apartment, but I won’t put them up until I take pictures of the rest of the place. I need to check on laundry and Flyboy is getting hungry now. Hope everyone is having a good day so far! Take care! Good night!

Sorry This One Is So Late
Mood:  down
Now Playing: My Achy Breaky Head

Hello, everyone.

I am sorry this one is so late; I haven’t really been feeling good. I am sick… yay! (Not really) I blame it on Flyboy, him and his flu vaccine. Lol. So I have been not up to really anything.

Right now Flyboy is off at Mr. 3 Yr Old’s house playing games with everyone. (He let me stay home.) I don’t think he will be back until around 2200 or so. Which being sick actually works out in my favor. =) I can’t go into complete detail until later because he likes to read my journal entries, but I can tell you it has to do with an upcoming “event”. So I am going to head out to the store here in a while. (Probably around 1730, just to make sure he is either at their house or on the way) Hehe, I am really excited.

Last night we didn’t go to bed until late… again. He found a Virtual Keyboard on the computer and decided to fix my song. (It sounds really awesome now =D) We had gotten one of those little lap harps for Mr. 3 Yr Old to play with (it's ours; he just gets to play with it when I babysit him or if he comes over to visit. He LOVES it teehee) and Flyboy decided to write me a song on it. It’s really pretty and it sounds even more pretty now that he has rewritten it on the keyboard. Hehe. He eventually wants to make it into a symphony and use it for the story he is writing.

It’s 1730, I will be right back.

~NikiRose out

----------------------------------------------

Well, I’m back. I didn’t mean for that to take so long. The store that I went to was packed and then I had to go to another store because I forgot to get something. I did meet a lady who gave me a new idea and a new cookie recipe. Hehe, I am really excited about it too. I will wait to make it so when my mom comes out to visit she can have some. =) I think I may go to bed early tonight,  that trip just took the life out of me, and it is having a hard time finding its way back. Oh, while I was out, Flyboy messaged me, I thought I was busted, for a sec, he wrote “Wheres desyrae go?” I was like.. uhh.. uhh “what do you mean?” then he replied with “that’s what Mr. 3 Yr Old immediately asked when we walked in” . That is SO sweet, he misses me. =D Ha! I win! Hehe =) that makes me feel good.  I think I am going to lie down now, Hope everyone is doing well! ~NikiRose signing off.

Thursday Already?
Mood:  caffeinated
Now Playing: Rumbles Of Tanker Flybys

Good Morning!

I think this is the first time I have like absolutely nothing to say. Wow… Let me think…

Flyboy suggested we have chicken parmesan last night, and since he had previously used all the chicken breasts to make chicken strips for me (they were AWESOME) we used those instead. Umm… Oh! Flyboy got his flu vaccine yesterday. No big deal really except this year they decided to send the live virus via a nostril spray. So, well, now he’s more congested than usual. (Which probably explains why I have a headache… louder snoring! Oh well.)

I was able to get half of the flash cards done for this section. (There is total of like 500 for all 5 books.) Apparently they dollar store I buy flash cards from decided to switch brands or something, because these flash cards are practically see thru. I mean you can write in pencil on the front (I don’t write hard either) and you can see it in the back. So, I am writing questions on one card and the answers on another, then taping them together. It’s a hassle, I know. Well at least it gives the cards a different texture (that also helps with memorization). If it wasn’t for the fact that it would be completely impractical, I would stuff the cards with random things, like cotton or sand that way they would be so different that memorizing them would be even more easy, and fun too!

I don’t want to go just yet, but I am running out of things to write down. I do however need to send a few emails out. So, I guess this will be a short one. =/ NikiRose signing off.

Shocked
Mood:  surprised
Now Playing: Absolutely Nothing

Good Mornin’!

Anyway, I am sure you all want to know how I slept last night… right? Great! I wish I had gotten more of it, but it was peaceful.

I got the laundry and dishes done and the vacuuming done as well. I laid out the blanket I am knitting and I have 2 regular panels left and then of course the border (3 panels). I wasn’t able to take pictures, because someone got off early yesterday. I really wish I would have had workdays like him. (Go to work at 930 have lunch at 11-1230 then be sent home at 1300. AND still get paid for a full day) Geez. It doesn’t happen often, but it completely throws a day off.

I think today will be taken lightly. I will more than likely be working on flash cards today. Though, I think I will have Flyboy help me with coloring them, they get done faster and he memorizes them without realizing it. Muahahahaha. Oh, and speaking of flash cards, Radar is enjoying them. He says they are helping a GREAT deal.

Guess what!?! I got my electric bill today! It was only $109.91!!! I am excited beyond belief. Plus it was even lower than that before they added all the new fees they have. I was SO scared I was going to get another $280 bill. Our last apartment was killing us with electricity and we didn’t use much either. Flyboy is thinking we may have been getting charged for the outside lights in the breezeway. Our bill didn’t start going up until after they got it fixed. =/ This is awesome too. We have the AC on (auto of course); I use the dishwasher and do laundry twice a week (the dryer takes like an hour 45 minutes to dry clothes. I think there is something wrong with it. There is never any lint in the lint trap. Oh well. We are just renting it for two more months. Ha! Then we will have our own. =D), plus both fans are always on (I can’t stand stagnant air), and the computer is on from 0600 to about 2300 everyday, except the weekends) so this bill is awesome! Especially since we had and well did none of that in our last apartment and yet our bill was in the $170’s to $250’s. *shudders* Anyway… I am so excited… I am so excited… I am so excited la la la la la la!

I don’t know of much else going on here. Flyboy is doing alright. He has earned himself a bunch of comp days, and because they aren’t letting the guys accrue them anymore (some guys had like 2 months worth of comp days) he has been forced to take them as soon as he gets them…. which means 3 day weekends until November.

I think that is all for now. Its… flash card time! Woohoo… not.

Patiently Waiting For The Electric Bill
Mood:  caffeinated
Now Playing: Rush Limbaugh

Good Morning! Good Morning! Good Morning!

Well, how is everyone doing this morning? Guess what? I am tired. I know that is not really news, but, I figured out why (yes, sleeping is key). Last night it was so unbearably hot and stuffy, that I woke up like every 45 minutes. Not cool, you know. And then that’s when it hit me… So I decided to move my pillows to the foot of the bed and sleep under the fan. OH MY GOODNESS!!! It was like 10 degrees cooler! Too bad the light bulb came on 2 hours before the alarm was suppose to go off, but at least the light bulb clicked. Ha! Guess where I am sleeping tonight! I made Flyboy put his head on the bed, under the fan, this morning after he finished shaving. He was like I was wondering why you did that last night. I just figured it was because I was snoring again. Kind of made me feel bad, but I finally slept really great.

I am sure if you haven’t guessed already, its cleaning day. I decided to slack off this weekend and allow flyboy to cook. Though he did promise me he would clean the kitchen and all the dishes today after work, but I don’t know… I have a bunch of laundry to do as well. Not too big of a day to start, but I need to work on the new flash cards (he got his new book set) and I need to lay out the king sized blanket I am knitting and start sewing on the next panel. I will take a picture of that too. Hey, while I am at it, I might as well update the apartment pictures. Don’t count your chickens though, I may have to wait until tomorrow to take the pictures, let alone upload them.

This weekend wasn’t too exciting, we decided to try the Iced Coffee from Mc Donald’s and they gave us both super larges instead of the small ones we had ordered, so needless to say I was up all of Saturday night and all of Sunday into Sunday evening. Well, the only problem with that is Monday we had to go over to Mr. 3yr Old’s house and have a potluck and play some games. Plus we needed to fix the sleep cycle we had screwed up because Flyboy had to work on Tuesday (today). So what did we do…? Stayed up all of Monday too! You can kind of see why I am still tired (not including the waking up every 45 minutes). But at least know that I won’t be over heated tonight! Hehe! I am SO excited, I can‘t wait to go to bed tonight! Anyway, during the sleepless hours, Flyboy decided he would hop on the computer and read EVERYTHING on the internet and then play around with Photoshop. (He likes editing the pictures I take) I however was left with organizing, infomercials or video games. I of course picked video games. (I need to finish the game anyway. Flyboy borrowed the game a few weeks ago from a buddy at work.  He of course didn’t ask for a time limit, and I don’t know the Video Game Borrowed From A Buddy Time Limit Policy. I am new at this.) Needless to say I am half way done with Final Fantasy VIII, which I am enjoying. I still think Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy X are my favorites so far. Enough about that...

I better get to cleaning. I will try to take those new pictures and write later tonight. Speaking of pictures, I sent the AF Ball pictures to you all, hopefully I resized them enough that they won’t kill your computers. I must go, the house is taunting me.  This is NikiRose signing off.

*yawn* *yawn* Let’s see… First off, I think everyone wants to know how the Ball went. I can honestly tell you it wasn’t what I thought it would be. This is pretty much how the night went… Wander around the building until they tell you it is alright to find your table.  Stand at your seat for 15 minutes while they search for the guy with the triangle to properly “ding” you the command to sit down. Try to force a conversation with the Officers and the upset Staff Sergeants (they didn’t properly claim their seats so the Officers took them) until they can locate the Honor Guard. Stand up, Ruffles and Flourishes, sit down. Stand up, National Anthem, sit down. Stand up, speaker, sit down, listen. Then there was a really cool POW/MIA ceremony. Charge your glasses again, and toast a two page list of people. Sit down, cold, fancy, weird fruit; nut and lettuce combination dinner is served. Make fun of the fact the dinner is really, really weird with everyone at the table. Main dish is served (2 servings of chicken, 3 servings of roast beef, more veggies and South of the Border spicy red potatoes.) Then just as soon as we can start on our main dish, GET OUT!!!! They need to clean!  Wander around the court yard in the dark with everyone else for 15 minutes, come back inside, sit down and watch a 2 Star and an A1C cut a cake with a sword. Applause. Speaker. Then an hour later, close with everyone singing Happy Birthday to the Air Force and the Air Force Song. We were then dismissed to go home, but we could stay and drink and dance if we wanted. That, in a nutshell, was the Ball. I didn’t get any pictures at the Ball, there really was no time between standing up, sitting down and leaving. I got some before we left and while we wandered around the first time. I will send them in an email rather than posting them here. =)

Now I am trying to figure out what sounds good for supper. We had pork chops last night and I had Flyboy make chicken strips for the week so those options are definitely out. Hmm… I think I will sign off for now, I am having a hard time focusing, grr. I will send those pictures ASAP.
