Mood:  chillin'

Morning…

Sorry about not posting yesterday, Flyboy threw a pop volunteer event on us and it started at 900. Though of course he had to go to work early to print some papers off, so I was stuck waiting in the car making a grocery list.

I wasn’t expecting it to get as hot as it did yesterday, and we are burnt because of it. Ironically we did have sunscreen in the car, but remember after we were crispy. We helped out with the catering group again; they will actually be catering our squadron picnic this Thursday. We served lunch to the nurses and doctors at the hospital by our apartment. We both got to barbeque hamburgers and hotdogs, but we ended up taking shifts because the smoke was ridiculous. They had us cooking really greasy burgers with charcoal and a side of 35 mph plus wind. You’d think the wind would help, but it didn’t because it would constantly shift directions so it was more of a nuisance than anything. I wore my sunglasses and they were SO caked with grease both on the outside and inside of the lense I could barely see! I honestly would rather have been trapped in a room full of chopped onions than take that smoke again. It was horrible. I feel very wimpy for not being able to handle it since I grew up around a barbeque like every Saturday, but this was just too much. I mean the rest of the guys were having a hard time too. =S It wasn’t the smoke inhalation; it was the fact that it burnt your eyes and impaired your vision on top of your eyes watering so bad you look like you actually were the one that had to “take care of” Old Yeller.

Anywho, on a lighter topic, Flyboy had to go to work at 900 this morning and since it is payday today I had to go grocery shopping. I could have waited until tomorrow, but tomorrow is a Case Lot Sale at the Commissary, which means it would be crowded at 700. O.o The Case Lot Sale is pretty much what it is; they sell cases of food for discounted prices. It gets SOOOO crazy, and I don’t think I will brave one until I need to buy baby supplies, you know? I actually got out of there for $92.00! I of course didn’t have to get too much because I am having us live off of Left-Overs, but I still think I did well.

Oh and since Flyboy attended they catering event yesterday he gets ANOTHER comp day. Here, I will show you what these next two weeks will look like; man will it go by fast…

I mean holy cow! He has so many off days it’s not funny, which in turn makes it go by sooo fast. I am becoming more antsy by the hour and I think it is driving Flyboy nuts, but oh well, he can deal.

Right now I have a roast in the Crockpot (wow, they have started transitions early… my goodness) it was the only spontaneous purchase at the store. Sad huh… haha. In a few I am going to have to leave again and pick up Flyboy for lunch. He decided to not pack a lunch today because he didn’t know how lunch was going to work with this training event he has been dealing with this week. The biggest part of it for him is today and tomorrow I guess. Who knows, but I do know, however it is deployment protocol training, or however you want to say it. So he had no extra room for his lunch pail, thus no lunch. I am STARVING by the way. I was hungry to begin with but that roast smells really tasty. Grr.  I figure I will head back to the commissary and pick up a sandwich at the Boar’s Head. Oh my, oh my! They have GREAT sandwiches! I figure we will take it and then eat it in the BX food court.

Well, I better head back out; it takes me a while to get to base because of the storm that rolled through last night. It decided to cause a lot of power outages, so there are several flashing lights at huge intersections, and it is getting to be lunch time. =S Oh, we are okay, it was a nasty storm, I have never heard thunder like that before, I was getting worried, it was so ugly out. It is looking ugly today, but I think it is too cold to start anything nasty, we will see though.

I hope you all have a great day! Take care! Be safe!
