Head.... Spinning... Too... Fast... Ahhhhhhhhhhh
Mood: energetic Good afternoon everyone!
Sorry for the lack of post this morning, but I have been busy, busy, busy over here and I just got a minute now, to let ya know I will post tomorrow.
Got to get back to work and get ready to run errands after picking up Flyboy!
Take care!!
~NikiRose 14 May 2009 Mood: chillin' Morning…
Sorry about not posting yesterday, Flyboy threw a pop volunteer event on us and it started at 900. Though of course he had to go to work early to print some papers off, so I was stuck waiting in the car making a grocery list.
I wasn’t expecting it to get as hot as it did yesterday, and we are burnt because of it. Ironically we did have sunscreen in the car, but remember after we were crispy. We helped out with the catering group again; they will actually be catering our squadron picnic this Thursday. We served lunch to the nurses and doctors at the hospital by our apartment. We both got to barbeque hamburgers and hotdogs, but we ended up taking shifts because the smoke was ridiculous. They had us cooking really greasy burgers with charcoal and a side of 35 mph plus wind. You’d think the wind would help, but it didn’t because it would constantly shift directions so it was more of a nuisance than anything. I wore my sunglasses and they were SO caked with grease both on the outside and inside of the lense I could barely see! I honestly would rather have been trapped in a room full of chopped onions than take that smoke again. It was horrible. I feel very wimpy for not being able to handle it since I grew up around a barbeque like every Saturday, but this was just too much. I mean the rest of the guys were having a hard time too. =S It wasn’t the smoke inhalation; it was the fact that it burnt your eyes and impaired your vision on top of your eyes watering so bad you look like you actually were the one that had to “take care of” Old Yeller.
Anywho, on a lighter topic, Flyboy had to go to work at 900 this morning and since it is payday today I had to go grocery shopping. I could have waited until tomorrow, but tomorrow is a Case Lot Sale at the Commissary, which means it would be crowded at 700. O.o The Case Lot Sale is pretty much what it is; they sell cases of food for discounted prices. It gets SOOOO crazy, and I don’t think I will brave one until I need to buy baby supplies, you know? I actually got out of there for $92.00! I of course didn’t have to get too much because I am having us live off of Left-Overs, but I still think I did well.
Oh and since Flyboy attended they catering event yesterday he gets ANOTHER comp day. Here, I will show you what these next two weeks will look like; man will it go by fast…
Fri 15 - work Sat 16 – off Sun 17 – off Mon 18 – off (wing wide off day) Tues 19 – work Wed 20 – off (my dentist appt.) Thurs 21 – short day (squadron picnic) Fri 22 – off (Memorial Day weekend) Sat 23 – off Sun 24 – off Mon 25 – off Tues 26 – work Wed 27 – off Thurs 28 – work Fri 29 – work (payday, prep car for trip) Sat 30 – off (clean and pack) Sun 31 – off (clean and pack) Mon 1 – Cali trip begins…
I mean holy cow! He has so many off days it’s not funny, which in turn makes it go by sooo fast. I am becoming more antsy by the hour and I think it is driving Flyboy nuts, but oh well, he can deal.
Right now I have a roast in the Crockpot (wow, they have started transitions early… my goodness) it was the only spontaneous purchase at the store. Sad huh… haha. In a few I am going to have to leave again and pick up Flyboy for lunch. He decided to not pack a lunch today because he didn’t know how lunch was going to work with this training event he has been dealing with this week. The biggest part of it for him is today and tomorrow I guess. Who knows, but I do know, however it is deployment protocol training, or however you want to say it. So he had no extra room for his lunch pail, thus no lunch. I am STARVING by the way. I was hungry to begin with but that roast smells really tasty. Grr. I figure I will head back to the commissary and pick up a sandwich at the Boar’s Head. Oh my, oh my! They have GREAT sandwiches! I figure we will take it and then eat it in the BX food court.
Well, I better head back out; it takes me a while to get to base because of the storm that rolled through last night. It decided to cause a lot of power outages, so there are several flashing lights at huge intersections, and it is getting to be lunch time. =S Oh, we are okay, it was a nasty storm, I have never heard thunder like that before, I was getting worried, it was so ugly out. It is looking ugly today, but I think it is too cold to start anything nasty, we will see though.
I hope you all have a great day! Take care! Be safe!

Carrots Are Orange!
Mood: spacey Now Playing: Why by Jason Aldean
Good morning.
*yawn* I don’t know what it is, but last night I couldn’t sleep deep enough. I mean I actually slept the whole night, which I haven’t been able to do in a while, but Flyboy woke me up and I was very groggy, as if I had only gotten 37 minutes of sleep.
Not much is going on here. Flyboy seems to think I have a fever, though I think we both might have one. He said it was really hot in the house this morning and I thought it was freezing. I may have the greater fever; since 72 degrees isn’t cold, but it isn’t sweaty hot either. Who knows… I think it was kind of funny though, because I planned on packing him fajitas (I made them over the weekend and they taste just like Dad’s, a delightful and depressing treat =’( you know? However I made it in the Crockpot with salsa where as Dad didn’t, he made it from scratch.) and just as I opened the freezer, Flyboy was like “could I have fajitas for lunch?” It made me smile.
Dinner tonight… I have no clue. Nothing sounds good at the moment. I may make that wild rice dish, but I don’t know.
Whoa! It’s… hailing? Where did that come from? I mean it wasn’t THAT cold this morning it had to have been around 53 degrees out, if not warmer… strange. Well I better go check out the weather, something seems a brew, you know? Take care! Until next time…

Morning!
Happy Mother’s Day Yesterday!
Guess what… It is raining… again, YAY!! Speaking of that, I have been meaning to check out NOAA for the past, well since I got home this morning actually. I jumped on the computer with my first intent being checking the weather, and then I noticed I had emails, and I spent the rest of the morning, up until now of course, answering Soldier’s questions. =) (He is doing alright, just getting really annoyed with the random additions to his uniform he has to make and purchase from his own pocket. It really isn’t helping him save Haha. This time it was a Camelback and a different pair of gloves, last time it was something else, can’t remember, but it is really starting to get under his skin. Poor thing… just wait until they promote him, he won’t know when he actually has to have the stripe s on, because of paperwork confusion and then he will find out at the last minute and he will have to scurry around trying to find stripes… kind of like Radar, poor guy.) He is still scheduled for his trip, I am sure I will find out more, closer to when he leaves.
Hold on, I really need to check the weather… eh, weather looks alright, we are missing the storms and apparently sending all the severe stuff to Mississippi Mom, I am sure she will enjoy that =/
Not much has been going on over here. This weekend we watched the Lord Of The Rings trilogy did some dishes and failed at making a grocery list. I need to work on that because Flyboy reminded me this morning about our tires. I had gotten them replaced before winter hit (when ever that was…)but I only had two replaced, costly at the time, and I need to get the back ones replaced, then of course put the new ones on the front, I know.. But, back to what I was saying, I need to budget tires into this mess. I knew I wanted to get them rotated, I just completely spaced on the fact that I need tires for the back. The care is pretty much good to go. It is up to date on the fuel filter (thank you The King) and I replaced the cabin air filter (that I had no idea I had until CarMax told me I needed one. I had no clue that my particular make, model and year had one, go figure). I replaced it, too expensive for them to do it, you know? The air filter is clean and was replaced like an 3k miles ago, coolant looks good, tests good too, all I really need are the tires, rotation, and oil change oh and of course I need to top off my wiper fluid. Oh, and wiper blades are good too. Man I LOVE RainX Latitude Wiper Blades, they are sooo awesome! My battery is good, I replaced that I think last year I do need to check on my spare tire, make sure it is up to par and we are good to go, in regards to the car. Just need to pack and then close up shop here.
----------------------------------------------------------------- Sorry, I was distracted there for a bit by the Base Paper and my mind started pondering… I noticed that Information Tickets and Travel have specials and of the sort for local attractions here and near by. I am curios if they have anything “goody” wise for what we want to do in Cali and if not, if the base “near” Cali has an ITT and if they do, if they have discounts and specials for the stuff we would like to do. I think I may be doing a little research in the very near future. =) It is just a thought, but hey, if we can save just a little, that would be great! ------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyway I don’t think the shopping list will be that big at all, so that should be a big help. I had us inventory the freezer, since I freeze meals, well I freeze a lot of meals apparently and we have 52 individual meal servings, that isn’t including straight up veggies. So we are going to deplete that this next payday and we have even discussed filling our cooler with ice and putting some meals in it for our trip. We would of course need to bring our bowls and eating utensils, but we would be set. That would save money in the long run too, plus we would be getting something healthy on our trip since I don’t have a kitchen at my disposal. Haha. We can stop at truck stops or gas stations and use the microwave and then when we get to our hotel, we are set there too! Plus that would also make lots of room in my freezer =) I am excited. We are thinking about buying a Ricky’s pizza before we leave, and put it in our Food Saver bags (since I will bring it with me for this) and we can have pizza on the way home. =) grr... I am getting hungry just thinking about it. I already had breakfast. I should probably go brush my teeth now and use that nasty mouthwash so I won’t have the desire to snack. *shudders*
I am getting really excited, still really hesitant, slightly having not such a good feeling about it, but I am sure that is just anxiety. I hope you guys are okay with all the fires that just popped up again. I got to watch that as they were drilling in my mouth. I know the fires were like an hour or so away, and I know I don’t know which way the winds were blowing, but an hour for us is like 20 minutes or less for a blazing fire. Even less out here, especially with our crazy winds, *shivers* I don’t want to deal with that again. There’s nothing like being surrounded by fires and having winds that like to randomly change directions at a moments notice.
Anyway, happy thoughts. =) I better let you all go for now, I need to put last night’s dinner in bags, start a load of laundry, budget, unload the dishwasher and wash everything from the weekend, not to mention tidy up from our wild weekend of watching movies. =P Haha. Hope you all have a Happy Monday! Take care!

Good afternoon!
I apologize for this being a late post, but today was a busy morning, and I didn’t want to get out of the “groove” I was in. I am kind of settling down now, so I thought I would post before I get too tired or completely forget. Haha.
Yesterday’s appointment went better than I was expecting it. I HEART gas. Teehee. I think that really helped, plus the gal knew what she was doing when it came to Novocain. The doctor I had growing up wasn’t very good with the needle part. Anyway, oddly, I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to my appointment on the 20th of May.
We are still scheduled to come out in June, though these gas prices need to slow down their rising, if you know what I mean. I think we should be good though, I did estimate gas prices at $3.25 a gallon with my car at its worst with 16 miles per gallon. I hope I did my math right. I was crunching numbers again (since I really enjoy it) and at the estimated gas prices I have, it will cost us like $304 one way! Insane… but worth it right?
I am waiting for Flyboy to get off work so we can P.T. (I really need to, I mean I gained like 10 pounds in the past week being so stressed about my appointment not to mention a bunch of everything else. Most of it’s gone, I honestly think it was mostly water weight, with a combo of “monthly” bloating, seeing that I was up and down all night…)
Oh! Guess what?!?! They came and fixed my electricity. It took a few days because of the rain, but it finally dried out and they came by on Wednesday. He ended up replacing a breaker and after almost dying while trying to put back one of my wall outlets, he replaced that wall outlet. It is AMAZING! Apparently we had a bad breaker when we moved in because I was able to use my vacuum and actually “suck up” the worn down carpet spots to the extent that it was “fluffy” and I could leave foot prints in it. =D I have never been able to do that here before. I also discovered today that my dishwasher works… VERY well. I guess it wasn’t getting enough power to it, so instead of pressure washing my dishes it was just hosing them down. I got the crazy idea simply because someone didn’t soak his dishes and I really wasn’t in the mood to scrub them. So I stuck them in the dishwasher to “loosen” the stuff I guess, and when it was done, my hard, sticky, nasty dishes were all sparkly like in those commercials. =D hehe YAY ME!
I am really crossing my fingers for a low electricity bill, but who knows. I have split pea simmering and it smells really, Really, REALLY good. I am glad I found something that I haven’t gotten sick of yet. This stuff reheats so well, and it hits the spot like every time, so it is pretty much the first frozen meal to go that resides in the freezer.
Holy Cow!!! I need to shower before 1500 and its 1450 now. (I like to shower before P.T. because it loosens all my muscles and I also have a more successful French braid.) I better go. Have a GREAT weekend!!! Take care!!! ~NikiRose

I hope you all will have a great day today. Take care!

Morning…
Not much going on here. I got a call from the apartment complex and they said they need to check the breakers outside, but due to safety reason they need to wait until it stops raining. Haha. I am definitely cool with that, electrocution isn’t fun…
The pork chops turned out alright, well Flyboy at least really liked them. I wasn’t too hot on them; I think it tasted too much like beef stroganoff. Don’t get me wrong, I like stroganoff, but I have burnt myself out on it, so it will take a while before I won’t mind having it again.
Today we are running the 3 miles again, that should be fun… I plan on trying a pizza type recipe for the crock pot for supper, but I am not sure.
I actually slept until 530; I woke up because I apparently fell off the bed. Haha. I fell asleep around 2000 and then was up and down all night after midnight because I had apparently drank too much water earlier that day. Grr to that.
Well I hate to go, but Flyboy just got done shaving which is my sign to start packing his lunch. Hmm… soo much to choose from…
Hope you all have a great day! Take care!

Well...scratch that dinner plan... I have NO electricity in the kitchen, dining room or living room. I needed to cook the some of the ingredients on the stove top. GRR. Plus it is supposed to be drizzling ALL day. *sigh* This really blows... =/

Diplomacy Is The Art Of Letting Someone Else Get Your Way
Mood: chillin' Now Playing: Someday by Nickelback Morning.
Sorry about not posting yesterday. Monday was such a crazy day, very exhausting too. I was up from 200 talking with Soldier on the computer, and then had to run errands with Flyboy all over base. (Not the fun errands of course, the “waiting for an eternity” ones!)
Anywho, we have been having electrical problems in the apartment more and more frequently, so Flyboy headed to the office and had them file a maintenance slip. I am beginning to think that it was never my microwave and that it was the electrical issues that blew my microwave. We can’t even use the TV. because there isn’t enough power going to it to keep a steady image on the screen, if even that! I was really tweaked when I plugged the can opener into the outlet and it wouldn’t even work. Flyboy and I are thinking that there may be a break in the line since the bathroom, bedroom, AC, washer/dryer and the computer have no problems. I will say good thing I decided to make Crock Pot meals this paycheck, because I doubt the stove will work decent. (I had to plug the Crock pot into the outlet in the bathroom. (It was on the counter of course) This just really agitates me, you know?
Soldier and I didn’t talk about much it was more “chit-chat” than anything else. I really enjoyed talking with him again though. =) He is still scheduled to visit the States at the same time as before and like I’ve said, it all depends on how well he can catch Hops.
Tonight I am making pork chops in the Crock pot. I have never made them in there before let alone the bathroom either. Haha. But I think they will come out alright.
I have my dentist appointment on Thursday, and luckily Flyboy was able to get it off. I am hoping that he can actually sit in the room with me while they work on my teeth, but who knows.
Speaking of appointments, I went to see the Oral Surgeon and it turns out that my top two teeth will be an easy pull but my bottom two will definitely need to be surgically removed. The great thing is that where they are located, there should be no issue removing them. They are no where near my jaw nerve or my sinuses. Yay me. The bad news is I have to cough up the whole cost since our insurance has a yearly cap of $1200 and I will have used most of this for these two appointments in May. Blah. It is a really shiny penny too. I am sooo looking forward to giving that penny up… not. Lol
Anywho, I have dishes to do and pork chops to prepare, oh and some laundry to wash too. =S Hope you all are doing well. Take care!

Up Again?!?!?!
Mood: cheeky Now Playing: WEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Good morning…
Yup, another early start. =( I think I got more sleep than yesterday though, I’m sure that has to be some what of a plus, right? I fell asleep a little after 2000 and woke up around 400 after breaking the fever I had fallen asleep with. I wanted to go back to sleep but when I had gotten up to use the restroom I noticed Flyboy’s BDU’s were still hanging up on the shower rod un-ironed. (He is part of the ATSO Rodeo set up this month. I think I had mentioned a few months back he and some others were actually participating in it, he had to do the Decontamination Line, or something like that. Well anyway, he is helping with set up and he has to wear his BDU’s) So, instead of going back to sleep, I ironed them instead. I’m not upset with him for not ironing him, it pretty much is my fault as to why he didn’t iron them. I laid down on the bed since I didn’t feel good and I had him sit with me for a while. He was exhausted from setting up the ATSO Rodeo, that next thing I know I am wake up at 400 and he’s was in the same spot he was when I asked him to sit with me. Oh man, oh man, were his BDU’s a mess. (I think I need to better explain that.) Generally I keep his BDU’s creased paper thin and if they start to lose that “thin-ness’ it takes maybe and I mean maaaaybeee 5 minutes to re instill those sharp corners. Anyway, he had one of those practice recalls where they call for the 300 pound Deployment Bag and what have you. Well this time for some retarded reason (and I stand by that statement and so does about everyone who had to pack and carry these beasts) they wanted one of the X amounts of uniform sets to be BDU’s. So now my beautifully pressed, sharper than a knights sword BDU’s had to be rolled up and stuffed into an over stuffed bag, ready for a moment’s notice. Bah. Guess what, two weeks later, “oh, by the way, when you show up to help set up the Rodeo, we need you in BDU’s”. Not a problem, except it was the night before, a very informative phone call 2 hours before bedtime. Flyboy assured me he would iron, and he did. I told him he needed starch, and well, you know how men are; they don’t believe you until after they finish the project and realize if they would have listened to you it wouldn’t look as awful as it does now. =P (I heart you Flyboy!) I mean yesterday his uniform looked okay, but after all the work he did, it didn’t hold the creases like it does when I take care of it. (Not to brag or anything. He knows I’m right though. I mean heck, I got kudos regarding his uniform from a Major. =P There was uniform inspection back when he was in the TRS and he was the only one who had a perfect uniform. Hehe. I so totally win! The Major was very impressed with the creases and not to mention the so-shiny-you-can-see-your-reflection-and probably-use-your-boots-as-a-mirror-to-shave type shine. =D These weren’t the boots that come shiny either; I had to put A LOT of work into these ones. Hehe. Anywho I didn’t have to do all that for him, but he was so busy with studying, I felt I had to help some how.) Okaaay… where was I? I have totally lost where I was going with this. Hmmm… OH! So yeah, these puppies seemed like they had never been ironed before, like ever. You could say it took me a bit to fix them. They are hanging up waiting to be worn.
Wow, I didn’t realize the time, Flyboy should be waking up in about 10 minutes. Which means I will be kicked off the computer (between 600-630 is “his” time) and instead of being bored, I will probably make him breakfast. Hmm... What to make him though… OH!!! I know! I got to go, I need to start cooking!!!!
I will back in a few… I hope. Take care!!!
~NikiRose
--------------------- Okay, I’m back. Flyboy is in the shower now so the computer is all mine, mauahahahaha. =P I am sure you are curious as to what I made eh?
4 eggs ¼ c milk ¼ c fresh mushrooms chopped ¼ c steak snacks 2 chopped green onions 2 pinches of fresh chopped parsley ¼ cup of cheddar cheese
If you haven’t guessed yet I made a surprisingly VERY tasty omelet. Hehe. We shared it of course. Oh, and instead of topping it with salsa, I heated up some of the Left-Overs from last night and put some of the baked beans and a little of the drippings on it. (About 3 spoon fulls) Flyboy was very happy. =) yay me!
Dinner last night, well… I wasn’t too fond of it. I think it needed some veggies in it, like corn and green beans. It was missing something; I don’t know what though, just seemed too sweet. However next time I make Beef Stew, I will use this recipe as a base.
Tonight Flyboy wants me to make lasagna, little does he know, I’m making a veggie one. =P hehe. Well, I better get dressed; I’m still in my pajamas, so I can take Flyboy to work. I have a lot of cooking to do today, not to mention I still have to separate the fruit. (I lost track of time and I was almost late to my appointment yesterday. Good thing I looked at the clock!!!)
Hope all is well with you. I will fill you all in on the appointment later. For now, Take care and have a great weekend!!!
