Sandwich, Sandwich, I'm In Love With You!!!

he’s back

in the states

!!!!!!!!!!

I just wanted to let you know that Soldier is back in the States now. He called Mississippi Mom to let her know, and she passed it to me. Then of course I got the voice mail. He is in Dallas, and is catching a flight to LAX. I don’t know what his flight number is, but after using my “investigative” skills I have an idea of which flight he is on. The soonest he will land in Cali is 1100 and the next flight to Smorcut leaves LAX at 1322, so the earliest he can arrive in Smorcut is around 1430 or so. If he misses those flights, the next flight out of there is 1830, so hopefully he can catch the first one though in his email, it did say he would arrive in Smorcut at 1918… but hey, if he can get there early, why not? I am just letting you know that you don’t have to worry about the phone ringing until after lunch. ^_^ I checked to see if he could fly to Santa Barbara then to Smorcut, but there was only one flight and it just left now, so that would be a negative on that. I just thought I would keep you updated. I am SOO glad he is State side again!

On a sadder note, I want to take a moment and send my condolences to the Goodman family as they are grieving their loss of their 21 year old daughter. Flyboy and I don’t know their family personally, but Radar does, and he and Ashton were really good friends growing up. She was severely injured while deployed to Afghanistan from an IED explosion over Memorial Day weekend. Radar says he is alright, but I know him well enough to know… Anyway, I just wanted to take a moment and send my condolences to all of those that knew her, and Radar, if you are reading this, have a safe trip back home, I will have some wings for ya when you get back, if I am not able to send you out there with them…

There isn’t much going on here. I am still packing and I was finally able to find all of our missing socks. There are a few things on my list to get before we make our trip out there.

Did you know it’s a 14 hour flight from Germany to Dallas Texas? I know, a little random. Flyboy and I discovered that Soldier was in Germany when he alerted us of his “718” arrival. (He never told us what day he was arriving and we scrambled around to figure out, basically what was “up”.) In the process of all of that we learned that it is a 14 hour flight from Germany to Dallas Texas. It is also a 9 hour time difference between Germany and Cali. Hey, I never said my entries couldn’t be educational… hehe.

I don’t know what else is going on around here. Flyboy flies tomorrow, go figure, the day before he goes on leave. They always do this, and it just makes the day before traveling even more stressful because there is always a chance of him getting diverted and having to stay in another state over night. I know they will bus him back to base that way he can go on leave, but then that just worries me regarding land travel. At least in the air they don’t have to really worry about traffic (I won’t bring up the near head on collision that he was in during a TDY in Vegas. I am just glad that our pilots knew what they were doing. For this I believe that the navy should stay in the water, leave the flying to us. ^_~ ) Anyway… birds strikes, knock on wood, not to stressed about that until he gets station in Alaska. *shudders* but anyway, anyway, ANYWAY… people in cars are insane, and you know me, it bothers me when I am not the one driving, well unless I am with a parent or family adults that have more than 5 years behind the wheel. *shudders* the rest of you are scary drivers, stop it! Anywho, I guess it is basically a trust issue, and that stresses me out. But I don’t see any strange weather on radar and Radar won’t be flying, so we don’t have to worry about the plane breaking. (Sorry Radar, I couldn’t resist) So I think it should be fine. I will find out when crew rest starts around lunch time, I think… I mean, I think he said he was heading to Mission Planning just now, but then again, generally it is after lunch. (Not always, but it sure seems like it) hmm…

Well, before I think to hard and let my brain explode, I think I will let you all go for now. I need to figure out what I want to destroy for dinner. Plus, I need to get, I know, you know, more cleaning done. So take care and I shall see some of you in 5 days 9 hours and 19 minutes, your time!

I... Just Don't know... =S
Mood:  sad
Now Playing: Just A Dream by Carrie Underwood

Just A Dream by Carrie Underwood

Good afternoon!

Flyboy was on crew rest until about an hour ago, so that is the reason for today’s late post. Yeah, there sure is nothing like being with someone for 6 days straight, 24-7 and then the first day you are separated is for 14 hours plus. *sigh* I feel pretty bad though, we did stay up talking an hour or so into crew rest. He is alright, don’t worry, he did get his 8 hours. =) I am glad that we did talk; it helped relieve a lot of my stresses. Don’t get me wrong, I am still stressed as ever, but it is more of a surface stress than a core stress, if that makes ANY sense at all.

We figured it wasn’t the Glucophage that was making me queasy since I am still queasy and I haven’t taken it for over a week now. We are guessing that it is the other pill I am taking because we were out past my pill time (yes I have a scheduled time to take my pills) and after about 20 minutes of it not being in my system, I came ever so close to losing my dinner on a passing goose. We also know that it is a common side affect of those particular pills. My question is, why hasn’t this affected me in the past, I have been taking them since December…

This weekend has been very looooong. It started off with the Squadron picnic and ended with a day of washing uniforms.

The picnic was alright. It dragged a whole lot though. (Maybe I should get involved with organizing this yearly shindig) Flyboy’s allergies started acting up like they always do. This time the allergy pill didn’t help, poor thing, so we ended up leaving early. We had fun while we were there and I guess that is what counts? After we left and Flyboy’s allergies were under control, I decided we would head downtown and get some miscellaneous nuts for the nut mix I make him. (He was low and Soldier wanted me to bring some, since he liked the mix I sent him). On the way hone we stopped by the Boba Tea place and had some of that yummy-ness and somehow wound up walking around downtown for 3 hours or so. All I know is we arrived when it was light and didn’t leave until dark. =S (that’s when I missed my pills and almost lost my supper on a waddling goose) We ended up walking a little over 3 miles. (We Googled it when we got home)

Friday I am completely drawing a blank on, which means we probably, stuck around the house. Saturday I rearranged the house again. This time is so open, and I love it! Well except at night when I am coming from the bedroom and all the lights are off, then it is really, REALLY spooky, bit other than that it is awesome! Flyboy wasn’t too thrilled with that, but he likes the end result. He decided to do the dishes for me while I rearranged the living room, yay me! I made chicken parmesan that night and it turned out surprisingly well. (I have been having trouble making it for a while now)

Sunday we went on a quest to find a suitable Over Night Bag, and we found one. I wish it was taller, but hey, this one works for us. I don’t think there will ever me another Over Night Bag like Mississippi Mom’s brown one. ^_^ I like that bag =) Once we came home and I packed it (still missing a few items that I will pick up o Friday) Flyboy reminded me that he needed his uniforms washed, so that became my next task. Once the clothes were done, we watched the news and TMZ (now, I am not a fan of celebrity gossip, let alone the shows, you know the shows I am talking about, but we really enjoy this show for the sheer fact that it is real journalism not this “yellow” nonsense) when headed for bed and Flyboy went on crew rest.

I woke up this afternoon and took him to work and here I am, bored and alone. I don’t have to sweat it too much; he has tomorrow off, another comp day. (they make them take comp days asap) right now I have my second load of clothes in the wash and a pile of clean clothes on the couch that need to be folded, so I can use the basket to transfer laundry. I plan on unloading the dishwasher and putting the newly dirty ones in there and pretty much get this house together for the trip. I figure I will also start packing our clothes that way I don’t have to do more laundry.

Tomorrow, we are going to get up early and go swimming since all the kids will be at school and everyone else won’t have the day off. (This was Flyboy’s idea, and a really excited one at that!)

As For Soldier, I have no clue. The last I heard from him was on Thursday, and I couldn’t talk very long because we had to go to the picnic. (We were talking over the computer) As far as I know he left on our Monday (his Tuesday) for his HOP. When I hear something out of him I will let you all know. I am guessing he won’t get to the States until Saturday or so. He said they have to have a full plane before they can take off. I mean depending on how long it will take to fill that flight, there is a chance it may be a few weeks before he can get to the States. I pray that won’t be the case, but I am just letting you know the situation.

Well my tummy is growling and the washer just finished doing its thing, so I better go for now. I hope you all are doing well, and if you hear from Soldier before I do, tell him to call me or something. =)

Take care! Love ya!

Mood:  don't ask

Morning…

Well this morning has started off GREAT so far. (I am being totally sarcastic, if you can’t tell.) I woke up still nauseous and the Novocain injection sites still hurt as well. So Flyboy is rushing around because he is having a hard time with out coffee, and we head out to the car at 10 after 700. Not a big deal normally, but we parked in the shade and it’s 60 degrees out and there is a cold breeze blowing from the north, and our car decides it is too cold to drive Flyboy to work in the morning. I mean what the heck? It’s hot outside! Just because we parked in the shade the interior got so cold that it thinks we are stealing the car? I did warm the key for a bit before I tried starting it the first time; guess I didn’t do it well enough. I can handle the winter, because I know, “hey, it’s winter you have to try starting the car a billion times, get up early” but this, this is ridiculous. So Flyboy called up SSgt Sexist (I will get into that later) because he is Flyboy’s supervisor, and he is swinging by to pick Flyboy up on his way to P.T. I can’t tell you how much more inadequate this makes me feel. It is my responsibility to get him to work and my mode of transportation has a glitch in it. Not to mention it’s SSgt Sexist.

Today is the Squadron picnic. It is a mandatory event for the airmen but voluntary for the spouses and kids. That’s how they get you I guess. However, we have to stay there all night, (this shindig starts at 1500) because Flyboy is helping set it up and clean up. I wouldn’t mind hanging around for a few hours, but we are trapped there. Even if we wanted to leave we couldn’t.

I hate sounding like a grouch this morning, but you know, I just want to stay in my trash can all day, and people keep trying to get me to interact.

I have to get started on the dishes again. I cooked a bunch on Tuesday and they just piled up twice as high. I need to do some laundry and start getting bags organized and packed; we leave in 11 days. I know it sounds like I am packing a little early, but I assure you that I am not. This is a 4 day weekend, that will go by really fast, and then Flyboy is flying a million times in the next week, so sleep schedules will be off again, and I also need to get the house ready for us leaving. (I want a sparkling clean house to come back to, since as soon as we come back, not even a day after we come back, Flyboy is going on TDY for a while. Ironically it will be a vacation like TDY because he will be in a place that he really enjoys.)((I wish I could go too =/)

I haven’t heard from Soldier. I am hoping he will update me on the day before or the day of his flight. Not like it is any of my business or that he has to check in with me or anything, but I am coordinating flights for him once he gets to the States.

Not much else is going on here. Just really busy and not in a decent mood, very restless and queasy.

I hope you all are having a decent day so far. Take care!

Broken Road by Rascal Flatts

Good morning!

I hope everyone is doing well. I know I am feeling a lot better today. I would say that I am at 55% from being at 30% yesterday.

After Flyboy came home, Turtle dropped him off, he and I took the wings over to Radar’s because there was no way I would be able to be away from a restroom that long. I really wasn’t feeling well. Flyboy stayed home with me, and I pretty much rested the whole day. I know I slept a lot, and I did wind up with a fever at some point that evening, but I am glad that I was at least able to sleep through the whole night. I guess I needed it. I decided not to take the Glucophage and it didn’t seem to make that much of a difference on my queasiness. However I think I will be changing the time I take it to the morning rather than late in the evening. Also, I will be cutting back on the green tea. I had brewed some and been drinking it like water, and after talking to Mississippi Mom, she brought to my attention that all that green tea in the past few days is probably the reason I couldn’t be away from a restroom for more than so many minutes.

I just finished a bowl of cereal, Kix was on sale, (hehe) and my milk finally defrosted enough that I could use it for cereal. (I am going to put a work order out for my fridge, don’t worry. I just would like to wait until after I get back from this trip. I don’t want anyone in my house while I am gone.) I am really happy that I am able to hold my breakfast down, not to mention I am actually thirsty. Yesterday I had to force myself to drink some water; I knew I was getting dehydrated.

I am currently doing laundry and I think the dishes will meet their doom next. Flyboy just did the dishes on Sunday, and I have no idea how they got piled up so fast. I really think our neighbors sneak into our house when we leave and make meals in my kitchen.

I didn’t end up making split pea yesterday; I really wasn’t up for it. Cooking the wings about killed me as it was. I made sure to save some for Flyboy, so he is having that for lunch. I can’t believe he thought I wouldn’t save him any and I would give the whole entire batch of wings to Radar for his BBQ. …men… Although, I highly doubt that the wings even made it to the BBQ. The last time I made wings, for Macho’s party, CornFed and Radar were fighting over the wings like 5 year old’s over a cool new toy. I am surprised neither of them got sick for scarfing down those wings so fast. I think I was able to snag like 4 wings to share with Flyboy and I and another guys was able to get 3 wings before they were gone. Then the two boys started cleaning the wing dish like there was left over frosting in it. Funny. So leaving the batch of wings with Radar was probably not smart if everyone else knew my wings were coming.

Anyway, I think that was the washer “dinging” so I better start up another load. I must catch up on chores, *sigh*. Take care!

Early To Rise, First To Fall Asleep!
Mood:  don't ask
Now Playing: My Town by Montgomery Gentry

 My Town by Montgomery Gentry

Good morning.

Man, I am so tired! I don’t know what it is, but I have been getting really queasy at night and it is really affecting how I sleep. Flyboy thinks it might have to do with me eating after I take the Glucophage, since it is supposed to be taken with food, but I tried eating right before and no change in queasiness. =/ oh and it also didn’t help that I tripped over Flyboy’s big feet and hurt my knee again, to the point where it hurt so bad he made me take some ibuprofen. That was not a fun evening, needless to say.

I dropped Flyboy off at work this morning, he has to work on his day off, and everyone was late. The show time was 700 and no one else showed up until 745. Yeeeaaah, that’s what I am saying. Today is a Wing wide day off and a couple of guys wanted to do a SIM and needed help with a certain part of it, so Flyboy was volunteered as well as another airman, to go help out. Fun times. Luckily he won’t be there all day; it should only be like a 4 hour shift. In the meantime, I am cooking my Delta Flight Dominators, for Radar’s BBQ this afternoon. I may just drop them off with him and we won’t head down to the lake, I am still feeling that queasy. (they type of queasy you get after riding ALL the rides at the fair like 8 times in a row with no wait in lines. Bleh) Anyway, the wings were requested; well more like you can come if and only if you bring your wings. (Playfully of course, but still) So Friday after Flyboy got off work, we headed to the Commissary and picked up some wings. Right now the first batch is in the oven on its second 12 minute interval, I hope these turn out alright. (I forgot one of the ingredients in the sauce, though Flyboy said it tasted better, so maybe it was a good thing?)

Friday was a very interesting day for me. The night before I had remembered that we had gotten our new debit cards in the mail, due to them expiring in a few weeks and I could not for the life of me remember where I had placed them. (We got them like a month ago) I knew they were somewhere in the house, but where was the question. So Friday I spent the day tearing the house apart, looking for these cards. After picking Soldier’s brain (via email) he said check your purses or the car. I knew they weren’t in a purse but I looked anyway. I had a feeling they were somewhere on the kitchen table but I was really apprehensive to attack that monster. So I looked through all my purses and I came to the one on the table. I picked it up and the envelopes fell off the table and hit me in the foot. It was a very much appreciated weight off my shoulders. So now I have a semi destroyed house, but a very neat and organized closet and laundry/pantry area!

As for Soldier, he is doing alright. I can hear the excitement in his voice, though I can also hear anxiety. (I guess that is the word I am looking for… stress?) He leaves his paradise on the morning of the 26th and heads for Kuwait. Then from there, after they have enough people, they will head for the States. Where they land, I hope it is Texas. (More flight availability) He said he will keep me updated on what’s going on, so there should be no worries.

The first batch of wings are finished, now for the second batch. I apologize if I seem a little distracted; I am conducting the grilling portion of this process at the moment.

Hmm… I don’t know what else is going on. I plan on making Split Pea tonight and that is a bout it. Oh, I have a dentist appointment on Wednesday morning at 900, so the post on Wednesday will probably be late. I know we have been looking at getting some supplementary dental insurance. Apparently this company won’t help with orthodontics unless I am under 23. Well I am turning 23 in December so like yeah. I mean we could start now, but as soon as the end of December rolls around they stop making payments and we are on our own. I asked Flyboy if he still wanted to invest in braces for me, even though our current insurance won’t cover it, and he is still for it. I am glad, but feel a little guilty, though he keeps reassuring me that I shouldn’t be feeling that way. He says I can just consider it as having our next 7 Christmas’s and my next 7 Birthdays in advance. Haha.

Wow, I am really not feeling up to par. I just stood up and, whoa! I hope these wings can hurry up and grill so I can stick their bony selves in the oven!

Alright, they are in the oven. I shall now set the timer, otherwise known as the alarm on my cell phone! =) Though, I think I am going to take me and my queasy stomach to the recliner and await the sound of the alarm. I may take some Pepto, so that may help. I hope you all have a great day! Take care!

Morning…

Sorry about not posting yesterday, Flyboy threw a pop volunteer event on us and it started at 900. Though of course he had to go to work early to print some papers off, so I was stuck waiting in the car making a grocery list.

I wasn’t expecting it to get as hot as it did yesterday, and we are burnt because of it. Ironically we did have sunscreen in the car, but remember after we were crispy. We helped out with the catering group again; they will actually be catering our squadron picnic this Thursday. We served lunch to the nurses and doctors at the hospital by our apartment. We both got to barbeque hamburgers and hotdogs, but we ended up taking shifts because the smoke was ridiculous. They had us cooking really greasy burgers with charcoal and a side of 35 mph plus wind. You’d think the wind would help, but it didn’t because it would constantly shift directions so it was more of a nuisance than anything. I wore my sunglasses and they were SO caked with grease both on the outside and inside of the lense I could barely see! I honestly would rather have been trapped in a room full of chopped onions than take that smoke again. It was horrible. I feel very wimpy for not being able to handle it since I grew up around a barbeque like every Saturday, but this was just too much. I mean the rest of the guys were having a hard time too. =S It wasn’t the smoke inhalation; it was the fact that it burnt your eyes and impaired your vision on top of your eyes watering so bad you look like you actually were the one that had to “take care of” Old Yeller.

Anywho, on a lighter topic, Flyboy had to go to work at 900 this morning and since it is payday today I had to go grocery shopping. I could have waited until tomorrow, but tomorrow is a Case Lot Sale at the Commissary, which means it would be crowded at 700. O.o The Case Lot Sale is pretty much what it is; they sell cases of food for discounted prices. It gets SOOOO crazy, and I don’t think I will brave one until I need to buy baby supplies, you know? I actually got out of there for $92.00! I of course didn’t have to get too much because I am having us live off of Left-Overs, but I still think I did well.

Oh and since Flyboy attended they catering event yesterday he gets ANOTHER comp day. Here, I will show you what these next two weeks will look like; man will it go by fast…

Fri 15 - work

Sat 16 – off

Sun 17 – off

Mon 18 – off (wing wide off day)

Tues 19 – work

Wed 20 – off (my dentist appt.)

Thurs 21 – short day (squadron picnic)

Fri 22 – off (Memorial Day weekend)

Sat 23 – off

Sun 24 – off

Mon 25 – off

Tues 26 – work

Wed 27 – off

Thurs 28 – work

Fri 29 – work (payday, prep car for trip)

Sat 30 – off (clean and pack)

Sun 31 – off (clean and pack)

Mon 1 – Cali trip begins…

I mean holy cow! He has so many off days it’s not funny, which in turn makes it go by sooo fast. I am becoming more antsy by the hour and I think it is driving Flyboy nuts, but oh well, he can deal.

Right now I have a roast in the Crockpot (wow, they have started transitions early… my goodness) it was the only spontaneous purchase at the store. Sad huh… haha. In a few I am going to have to leave again and pick up Flyboy for lunch. He decided to not pack a lunch today because he didn’t know how lunch was going to work with this training event he has been dealing with this week. The biggest part of it for him is today and tomorrow I guess. Who knows, but I do know, however it is deployment protocol training, or however you want to say it. So he had no extra room for his lunch pail, thus no lunch. I am STARVING by the way. I was hungry to begin with but that roast smells really tasty. Grr.  I figure I will head back to the commissary and pick up a sandwich at the Boar’s Head. Oh my, oh my! They have GREAT sandwiches! I figure we will take it and then eat it in the BX food court.

Well, I better head back out; it takes me a while to get to base because of the storm that rolled through last night. It decided to cause a lot of power outages, so there are several flashing lights at huge intersections, and it is getting to be lunch time. =S Oh, we are okay, it was a nasty storm, I have never heard thunder like that before, I was getting worried, it was so ugly out. It is looking ugly today, but I think it is too cold to start anything nasty, we will see though.

I hope you all have a great day! Take care! Be safe!

Carrots Are Orange!
Mood:  spacey
Now Playing: Why by Jason Aldean

Why by Jason Aldean

Good morning.

*yawn* I don’t know what it is, but last night I couldn’t sleep deep enough. I mean I actually slept the whole night, which I haven’t been able to do in a while, but Flyboy woke me up and I was very groggy, as if I had only gotten 37 minutes of sleep.

Not much is going on here. Flyboy seems to think I have a fever, though I think we both might have one. He said it was really hot in the house this morning and I thought it was freezing. I may have the greater fever; since 72 degrees isn’t cold, but it isn’t sweaty hot either. Who knows… I think it was kind of funny though, because I planned on packing him fajitas (I made them over the weekend and they taste just like Dad’s, a delightful and depressing treat =’( you know? However I made it in the Crockpot with salsa where as Dad didn’t, he made it from scratch.) and just as I opened the freezer, Flyboy was like “could I have fajitas for lunch?” It made me smile.

Dinner tonight… I have no clue. Nothing sounds good at the moment. I may make that wild rice dish, but I don’t know.

Whoa! It’s… hailing? Where did that come from? I mean it wasn’t THAT cold this morning it had to have been around 53 degrees out, if not warmer… strange. Well I better go check out the weather, something seems a brew, you know? Take care! Until next time…
